Iran Press

Iran Press, is an Iranian international news agency which provides real-time visual news content. It is the first "visual" international news agency of Iran and West Asia.
Background and organization
It started its experimental operation in September 23, 2017. Abbas Mohammadnejad was appointed as its first director. Later in April 16, 2019 it begun its operation officially in a ceremony in IRIB international conference center where director-general of IRIB was also present. IRIB head stated that Iran Press is intended to operate with as little resources as possible. Mohsen Ghomi, the deputy of international affairs office of the Supreme Leader also attended the ceremony.
In November 23, 2020, the director of Iran Press appointed Ali Karami as the "Manager of the affairs of journalists", and Marzieh Zaeri Irani as the "Manager of the modern media".
Domain and Operation
Iran Press provides latest news in visual format in the live mode. The reports by journalists from 30 countries in the world will be provided to its audience.
Iran Press is offering its productions to domestic outlets and foreign customers. It covers the fields of politics, culture, economy, and other important areas. Peyman Jebeli, the exterritorial deputy of IRIB has said "the purpose of Iran Press is to provide correct picturing of realities in Iran, regional countries and independent countries, which is not reflected by other media in the world".
Also the agency uses 24 hour satellite feed to provide out of shore audience with live visual content. These live visual content and news will be translated to English and Arabic the moment it is received by the news agency. It broadcasts on Eutelsat satellite, and also has a service of voice over IP on a round-the-clock 24-hour basis.
In the appointment order of Abbas Mohammadnejad, the director, four missions were highlighted: 1) acting as a reference news agency in Islamic society and regional countries and fighting with Islamophobia and Iranophobia in the world scence 2) Acting against monopoly of production of visual news by other news agencies 3) assisting dialogue of resistance, revolution, and religion by production and broadcast of precise and correct news 4) expanding the broadcast of news and visual content in all cyberspace platforms.
Website and Social media
The website of Iran Press provides audience with latest news and analysis in three languages: English, French, Arabic, and Persian. The Arabic language website begun its work in the summer of 2019. The French language website of Iran Press as the fourth language among its websites was unveiled in February, 17, 2021. The contents of French website will be shared in French language Twitter and Facebook accounts of the news agency.
Iran Press has active accounts in the social media like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Whatsapp and Telegram in a 24 hour basis. It provides the latest news and productions in English language in these networks. Twitter account of Iran Press has separate pages for Arabic, French, and Spanish languages. In addition, Iran Press is present in Iranian social media like Aparat and Soroush.
The YouTube page of the agency was blocked at least two times. Also in February 2020, Instagram deleted the page of Iran Press, even though the managers of the page, had a cautious approach for their published content. The Instagram page of Iran Press, had a special focus on covering the tourism industry of Iran.
Other activities
Mehdi Kiaee, Director General of Culture and Public Relations of the Iranian Parliament visited the Iran Press in September, 16, 2018.
In December, 13, 2021, and as the Christian New Year was nearing, Armenian (Christian) members of the Iranian parliament, visited the Iran Press news agency and exchanged ideas with members.
In December 2021, IRIB decided to create a special music for Iran Press news agency, which is the combination of Iranian music and Western classical music.
Iran Press is also active in cooperation with charities. Mohammadnejad, the director of Iran Press visited the "Abshar-e Atefeha" charity NGO in September 2020.
