iPhone Sessions are commercial recordings created entirely with an iPhone. The concept derived from the practice of the singer/songwriter Justin Branam who used his iPhone to record new songs so that he would not forget their melodies. "I was really impressed with the quality of the recordings, and I had the idea of releasing songs that I recorded with my iPhone," stated Branam. Since Branam's original creation, the iPhone Sessions EP, other artists have joined to release a benefit compilation record entitled, iPhone Sessions: HOPE VOL. 1. iPhone Sessions EP In July 2010, Justin Branam released the five track iPhone Sessions EP which was entirely created on his iPhone. Along with the recordings themselves, Branam went on to create music videos and the album art using only his phone. The EP was available for only a month on the "fan funding" platform, Kickstarter, in an effort to raise money to record a new full-length record. Kickstarter] is a place for creative individuals to seek funding for their creative projects. After only a month, Branam had reached his full budget for a new record, received critical acclaim from newspapers, blogs and magazines and was featured as a guest on radio stations such as KDHX St. Louis, WRLT Nashville, WRVU Nashville, and Knox ivi Knoxville.
