Iowa Is Closed Today is an upcoming independent comedy-drama film being produced by 30th Street Entertainment, Inc. The film is written and directed by Ryan Quinn and produced by Erica R. Sperber. Andrew M. Karasik is the executive producer. This marks the second collaboration between Ryan Quinn and Andrew M. Karasik, with The Commandeer Club being their first. The film is being made in part with a grant from The Samuel D. Abrams Film Endowment Fund. Plot Summary Andy Adams is dead. Waking up on a couch in purgatory, he is met by Gabriel, the Angel of Death, to whom he must prove his life's worth. Andy recounts to Gabe his last year alive, weighing the merits of his growing prestige as a book bootlegger for literary pirates and the relationship he forged with a beautiful taxidermy thief, April Mae. Realizing only in death that a major decision he made on Earth was not for the best, due to some complications in Heaven's miracle department and the unfortunate timing of Iowa's closing, Andy just might get a second chance to amend his mistakes. Iowa Is Closed Today is being filmed over the course of five months throughout central Pennsylvania and Presque Isle State Park in Erie, PA. Music Mark Lehnowsky will be composing an entirely original score for the film. Release The film's release is currently scheduled for late April at a premiere in State College, Pennsylvania.
