International Collaboration for Participatory Health Research

The International Collaboration for Participatory Health Research (ICPHR) is a global collective of researchers who aim to establish participatory research in health as an integrated part of local, regional, and national strategies to meet the needs of disadvantaged communities by addressing issues of health inequality.
ICPHR uses the term Participatory Health Research (PHR) to describe a diverse and emerging field around the use of participatory research in the context of health and wellbeing .
ICPHR has so far resisted a definition of PHR, preferring to see it as an open-ended project . Using a range of paradigms, strategies of inquiry, and methods of analysis that researchers can draw upon and utilise is part of PHR’s richness and increasing appeal to researchers.
