The IPN2220 is a WLAN chip made by Inprocomm. It is mainly used by embedded routers , but also in certain Toshiba, Acer, and Packard Bell laptops. It supports 802.11b/g, in both Access Point and Client modes. Features Its main features are: * Baseband and MAC in a single chip. * On-chip ADC, DAC, AGC, and RSSI. * Variable data rate: 1-54 Mbps. * Hardware support for AES, WEP, WPA, and Cisco Compatible Extensions. * WPA Certification. * PCI, MiniPCI, and CardBus host interfaces. OS Support The single biggest problem with this chipset is the lack of drivers. As Inprocomm is no longer in business, no new drivers are being developed. Currently, drivers are known to exist only for : * Windows 98 * Windows ME * Windows 2000 * Windows XP * Windows XP x64 * Windows Vista * Linux 2.4.18 on the ADM5120 chipset
