Industry Demonstration

Industry Demonstration is a self-released demo EP by Swiss Industrial metal band Apollyon Sun, released in 1997.

The title of the demo is apt, it was not released to the public, but only sent to record companies for promotional purposes. The version of "Slender" was greatly expanded upon when re-recorded for Sub album. The version here only represented the first portion of the song. The song "Relinquished Body" was included on neither the EP nor the album. However, the song is also featured on the Celtic Frost Prototype demo. The song was the first song Tom Gabriel Fischer wrote since the termination of Celtic Frost and before Apollyon Sun formed. "Mesmerized" is a cover of a Celtic Frost song, much like Apollyon Sun's version of "Babylon Fell" used for the In Memory of Celtic Frost tribute album.

This EP secured the band a contract with Rod Smallwood and Merck Mercuriadis, for London-based Sanctuary Music Management. Smallwood signed Apollyon Sun explicitly because he wanted a state-of-the-art, cutting edge group for Sanctuary, to modernize and rejuvenate their roster. Rod Smallwood formed Mayan Records specifically to host Apollyon Sun within the Sanctuary Group after signing the group. Marky Edelmann subsequently designed the logo for Mayan Records.

Produced by Apollyon Sun. Recorded at Artag Studio and WS40, Zurich, Switzerland, summer 1996 - summer 1997. This CD was manufactured in a limited quantity exclusively for the purpose of shopping the AS project to the recording industry.
