Poshala Indira Shoban Goud is an Indian politician and social activist. She is a member of the Aam Aadmi Party. She worked as a TPCC official spokesperson in the Congress Party and YSR Telangana Party. Early life Indira Shoban was born in Charakonda, Nagarkurnool District on 13 December 1979 to an agriculture family. She completed her schooling at Social Welfare Residential School, Balanagar, Mahaboobnagr District. She did her post-graduation in chemistry and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Osmania University. Indira is married to entrepreneur Shoban Poshala. They have two daughters. Career Indira Shoban worked as an assistant professor in Nizam College, Department of Chemistry before entering politics in 2008 as a full-time politician. Indira played a pivotal role in the Telangana separation movement and worked as Women's Wing president in Telangana Jagruthi. She educated and mobilized women for active participation in the Telangana movement and organized seminars and other events to protect Telangana's cultural significance. After the formation of Telangana State in 2014, she was inspired by the ideologies, principles, and programs of the Congress party. When the historic decision to separate Telangana state was announced by Congress Working Committee (CWC), that motivated her to join the Congress in early 2014 before the elections. In 2016 she was appointed as Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Official Spokesperson. She became an official spokesperson. Shoban was a permanent invitee of the Pradesh Congress committee, Member of the TPCC - OBC Empowerment committee and worked as Coordinator of the TPCC training committee for Suryapet district. She was a member of the demonetization implementation committee. She expected an MLC ticket to contest the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahbubnagar Graduates constituency polls held in March 2021 and was dejected when the party leadership made a different choice. She resigned from Congress Party on 3 March 2021. She joined YSR Telangana Party and resigned from the party in quick succession on 20 August 2021. After her resignation Shoban organized a padayatra named ‘Upadhi Bharosa Yatra’ on August 27 in the Huzurabad constituency in an individual capacity. Shoban joined Aam Aadmi Party on 25 December 2021 in a party event attended by Somnath Bharti. She was appointed as Telangana State search committee chairman on 1 February 2022.
