Origin In the UK, the company developed from the merger of two research agencies: Hauck Research in qualitative brand development and innovation, and DVL Smith Ltd in quantitative research and business strategy. In the US, Momentum Research Group of Austin Texas became part of Illuminas in 2004 and the New York office opened in 2005. Illuminas APAC started with the opening of the Hong Kong office in 2005, followed shortly after by Shanghai. From London they coordinate research projects across Europe, Middle East and Africa, as well as globally. Americas Illuminas offices in North America provide research for clients in sectors from media to luxury goods, consumer products to financial services and technology to telecoms. They provide studies encompassing North, South and Central America. APAC In Shanghai and Hong Kong the APAC team have a focus on Greater China as well as covering all of Asia’s major markets and Australasia via a network of fieldwork partners. Areas include: Brand Strategy, Business Strategy, Communications, Digital Economy and Shopper Behaviour.
