ICT Laboratory of Piedmont Regional Administration

The ICT Laboratory of the Piedmont Regional Administration is an Italian laboratory focused on ICT (Information and Communications Technologies) and technology in government developing.
It was set up in 2004 to test and trial potential solutions to be integrated into the Regional Information System (SIRe) and shared with the other public administrations throughout Piedmont.
Main objective
To determine what ICT technology can be applied to the day-to-day work of the organization.
The Laboratory’s activities support not only greater technological innovation, but also organizational and cultural innovation; resulting in better services and greater attention to citizens, enterprises and other public administrations.

The Laboratory is “one of a kind” within the regional framework, facilitating the development and sharing of new technological and organizational models among public administrations.
Activities
The Laboratory’s attention focuses on prototype analysis and study, and the evaluation of a range of technologies:
* Processing architectures, especially those dealing with ICT security
* Business intelligence tools
* Office automation
* Technological platforms
* Wired and wireless systems
* Web and multimedia technologies
