Testimony
Ian McCormack's story began in 1980, when he left New Zealand at the age of 24 for “The Big O.E”, a New Zealand tradition of young people travelling to get some “Overseas Experience.” He sought the “meaning to life” and was particularly interested in enlightenment from eastern religious teachings. Despite this interest, he became convinced through his travels that there was no life after death and this present life was all there was to live for. Later he would describe himself as a “gambling atheist” during this time.

After backpacking and surfing through Asia and Africa, Ian ended up staying for a while on the Island of Mauritius off the coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean. He struck up a friendship with some local Creole fishermen and went night diving to catch fish.
On one particular night, while diving, Ian was stung by five Box Jellyfish, specifically the deadly variety of Box Jellyfish called the Sea Wasp - Chironex fleckeri. Paralyzed and dying, Ian was rushed to a hospital, but before he arrived, he describes how he began to see his life pass before him. After this, he saw a vision of his mother praying for him. Ian’s mother told him to cry out to God from his heart. He asked God from his heart to forgive him of his sins. He felt an intense peace fill him as he was rushed into a hospital.
Ian relates how he died while the doctors tried in vain to save his life and he instantly found himself in a Kingdom of Darkness where he could feel an intense evil trying to touch him, but it could not - something prevented it from harming him. After discovering that this place was hell, he was taken from there to a Kingdom of Light where he met Jesus. Despite having cursed God and lived a very riotous life, Ian describes how he experienced Jesus’ unbelievable Love for himself.

Ian believes that Jesus gave him a revelation of his glorified self and showed him the new Heaven and the new Earth promised to Believers in the Book of Revelations. He was then shown hundreds of thousands of people - a sea of humanity that Jesus said he wanted Ian to return for, to share God’s Love for them. Ian relates how Jesus sent him back to search for other lost people like himself.
According to Ian's testimony, he came back to life on a slab in the morgue a full 15-20 minutes after he had been certified dead by the doctors. He was paralyzed from the neck down, but he prayed to be healed and he walked out of the hospital the next day.
Since then
After his experience, Ian describes how he thought he was the only one in the world who knew God. He began reading a Bible and says he was amazed to find everything he had experienced detailed within its pages. He became a missionary and ministered to indigenous tribes in southeast Asia where he met his future wife and fellow missionary, Jane. After they were married, they worked in New Zealand revivals until they felt called to start a church in England. the flagship station of the Christian Broadcasting Network.
Ian stresses constantly that his story is not to be sold - his story and book is copywrite free, allowing anyone to download and print it.
