Club history
The Hummocks Watchman Eagles Football Club was formed in 1995 from a merger of Adelaide Plains Football League clubs, Hummocks Watchman and Port Wakefield. The new club continues as a member of the Adelaide plains to the present day. The name derives from the Hummocks Range north of Port Wakefield and Watchman, a settlement just north of Balaklava.
Since the turn of the century the Eagles’ record has been superb with the senior grade side claiming six premierships from seven grand finals. The wins came in 2001 against Balaklava, 2003 and 2005 against Hamley Bridge, 2006 against Balaklava once more, 2008 at the expense of Mallala, and 2019 against Two Wells. The sole reversal occurred in 2004 at the hands of Hamley Bridge.
