The HP Eletebook 8460P is a laptop in the Eletebook series by HP and was first introduced in 2011. It was manufactured to meet military standard, being able to withstand high temperatures, humidity, shock and vibration. Specifications As is typical of the EliteBook series, the notebook utilizes a silver colored magnesium alloy case and an aluminum lid. Notably, the laptop was claimed to offer a 32 Hour battery life with an optional add-on battery. Unlike the 8460w model, the standard graphics option was an Intel HD 3000 series accelerator, but an AMD Radeon HD 6470M option was available with 1GB of video memory. Common to 14-inch notebooks, the built-in keyboard offers no numeric keypad, relegating this feature to use of a Function Key. It is, however, spill resistant. Other features were an in-built Optical Disc Drive, a mechanical or solid-state Hard Drive, a High Definition webcam and light located above the display panel, USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, a card reader and a FireWire port. A Dial-Up modem is also included. The sound system features an internal microphone and integrated stereo speakers, but external stereo devices can be used. Common to professional notebooks, both a Touchpad and an Accupoint are available as pointing devices on all versions. The Second Generation Core i-series processor, built upon the Sandy Bridge architecture, can be upgraded to other processors in this series, including the Quad-Core i7.
