Hip hop moguls

Hip-hop music started in the early 1970's and now has grown into a billion dollar business. Between clothing, jewelry, cars, music, video games, and ringtones hip hop has created a few powerful moguls.
Being a hip-hop mogul is not easy. Many have tried and failed. There are the few elite that manage to stay on top. There is a basic handbook for becoming a hip-hop mogul. First you have to be an entrepreneur and start your own company. No matter what it is you have to make it successful and expand. The key to being a hip-hop mogul is expansion. Also, you have to be unique. Most hip-hop moguls were unique when they started. Not many artists had clothing lines when Jay Z started Roc-a-wear. When Russell Simmons started Defjam records there was no competition. Also, when Diddy was throwing huge parties on college campuses not many people were doing it at that time. Nowadays everyone has a clothing line and a record label. In order to be a hip-hop mogul in the world today, you have to be unique.

Jay Z
Jay Z is by far the richest hip-hop mogul in the world. With an estimated worth of over $540 million no other hip-hop mogul even comes close. Jay Z became famous by introducing the Roc-a-wear label then expanding into clothing, liquor, cars and nightclubs etc..

Diddy

Many of todays top moguls are not college graduates. Diddy leaving college to pursue music and other interests and Russell Simmons leaving City College to pursue other things also. In order to be a successful hip-hop mogul it does take education but many of todays top moguls were self educated only learning from real life experience because of failed business attempts. A lot of people see the success of the moguls but don't realize how many businesses that were launched and unsuccessful.
Diddy launched a magazine that failed and an advertising agency. Phat Farm didn't see success until years after it was established. Jay Z formed a label called Roc-la-familia and later fired many of it's employees and folded. The education of the hip-hop mogul comes from life itself.

Luxury
Hip-hop moguls live the luxurious life being driven around in the best cars and having the largest homes. Also, a perk of being a mogul is gorgeous women.
