Heli USA is a helicopter tour company in the western United States based in Paradise, Nevada with tours of the Grand Canyon and Hawaii. According to company website, "over one million passengers have safely flown on Heli USA tours." The company also owns guest ranch, Grand Canyon West Ranch, located on the west rim of the Grand Canyon. Crashes On 23 Sept 2005, an Aerospatiale helicopter operated by Heli USA crashed into the ocean near Haena on in the Hawaiian islands. 3 of the 5 passengers died. In 2007, in a further accident, 3 tourists and the pilot were killed when a helicopter owned by Heli USA crashed at Princeville airport, also in Kaua'i Safety Heli USA employs pilots whose average flight time is more than 5,000 hours. Pilots are trained in accordance with FAA, Part 135 requirements (same standards as for major air carriers). Pilots receive IMC (inadvertent meteorological conditions) training for the locations at which they fly. Heli USA flight training procedures require two mechanic signatures on all major component helicopter maintenance, a practice which exceeds FAA requirements.
