Healthy Child Healthy India

Healthy Child Healthy India is a nation wide campaign started by a non-profit organization called Saidas Healing Foundation. Its focus is on disseminating correct information on the role good nutrition can play in keeping children healthy and prevent childhood disorders. Healthy Child was initiated by founder of the organisation Amitabh Pandit in 2008, after watching the appalling state of under nourished children in the urban regions of his country due to ignorance of nutrient rich foods.
Mission
Healthy Child Healthy India inspires parents to become aware of the discoveries in the field of nutrition to prevent childhood disorders. Their mission statement:
"We are leading a movement that educates parents, supports preventive policies, and engages communities to make responsible decisions, simple everyday choices, and well-informed lifestyle improvements to create health in their children who develop as world citizens.
Healthy Child Healthy India exists because tens of millions of Indian children now face chronic diseases and illnesses including cancer, autism, asthma, anemia, birth defects, diabetes, ADD/ADHD, allergies, learning and developmental disabilities, obesity as well as a host of lesser but disruptive ailments. Credible scientific evidence increasingly points to deficiencies in foods, chemicals like preservatives, additives and colors in packed products or the wrong types of foods such as saturated fat, trans fat or highly refined sugar leading to the low nourishment in everyday diets and causing and contributing to many of these diseases.
For the past decade and half Saidas Healing foundation has been the nation's leading organization of its kind. We help millions of parents, educators, health professionals, and the general public take action to create healthy diets, become more aware of what to feed children to build a healthier nation and a happier world."
