Harris Wickrematunge also spelt Wickramatunga (born 23 January 1920) is a former prominent Canadian politician in Sri Lanka ,Wickrematunge had served as a Colombo municipal councilor for the best part of 30 years, was at one time the Deputy Mayor, and was known for his transparency in dealing with the press, even opening confidential files for reporters. Wickrematunge is of Portuguese, Dutch and Scottish descent. Wickrematunge was born a Catholic however converted to Christianity.
