Harper 'Danger' Ray is an award winning theatre maker. He runs the contemporary theatre company Another Midas, which specialises in new and interactive performances. He has worked in London’s West End as Artistic Director for a large Neo-Burlesque venue called Too 2 Much; formally The Raymond Revue Bar. Harper Ray was one of the team responsible for overseeing its transformation into a contemporary review theatre Too 2 Much ( now the Soho Revue Bar). He has a first class Honours degree in Theatre from Dartington College of Arts. His past directing credits works included national tours of: DIRTY...little...SECRETS and 'Chaucer's Cock Tale'. His other credits include Tender Deadly Voices and Murder at Jacksons Lane. An established director, notable for his highly visual and immersive practice, he is also a theatre critic for The Mirror Publishing Group under a selection of pseudonyms. He specialises in creating and overseeing new interactive and immersive theatre projects and commissions. He won a fringe award for Best Actor, is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts and is a Director on the Board of Scarabeus Theatre. Collaborations As well as his own work Harper Ray often works with top British burlesque performers Roxy Velvet and Ivy Paige on what he terms Theatre Burlesque. Harper Ray has created much of his work at South Hill Park.He has worked closely with writer/director Bernie C. Byrnes a.k.a. Dr Bernie Byrnes. He also works with composer Jim Fowler, who was part of the BAFTA winning team for Sony with Singstar. The Marquis of Gray Harper Ray performs as a cabaret compere called The Marquis of Gray. He has been called “A mix between your typical dandy and the Marquis De Sade” (peeptoe) Often using an auto-biographical style to link the composit parts of the show. He has two dancers ladies of gray, otherwise known as Miss Emma Reld and Miss Di Mond. Harper is of particular interest as he is one of the very few professional men working in the female dominated cabaret and burlesque industry at such a high level.
