Harlow Winter Kate Madden

Harlow Winter Kate Madden is the first child of Joel Madden and Nicole Richie. She was born January 11, 2008 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center weighing six pounds seven ounces. Nicole was back home hours after giving birth to a very healthy baby girl.

Joel Madden, frontman of Good Charlotte, started dating Nicole Richie in December of 2006. He has stated "We are so blessed to have a beautiful, healthy baby girl welcomed into our family." According to Lauren Conrad, Richie was surprised she had a girl.

The name Harlow, while traditionally a boy's name, is of English heritage, and means 'From the mound of the people.'

Madden is the godfather of 'The Games' son Harlem Caron Taylor - perhaps there is significance in naming his own daughter Harlow.
