Hannah Sung

Hannah Sung is a Canadian television and radio broadcaster and journalist, best known as a former MuchMusic VJ.
Sung was born in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, attended Woburn Collegiate Institute, and earned a degree in English with a minor in women's studies and history from the University of Toronto. Before joining MuchMusic, she worked for the Toronto Star and Chatelaine.
MuchMusic VJ
She spent four years working for MuchMusic, from 2002 to 2006, including stints as host of MuchNews, MuchOnDemand and the network's flagship magazine show, The NewMusic. Unlike most MuchMusic personalities, her work for the station was more oriented toward entertainment and pop culture journalism rather than as a traditional VJ.
Journalism
After leaving MuchMusic, she spent the month of September 2006 travelling through Indonesia and East Timor with CARE Canada's youth initiative YouthCARE, producing a documentary about the issues youth face in the aftermath of natural disaster and civil strife, and subsequently toured junior and senior high schools in Canada to speak about her experiences.
She has since worked as a freelance contributor to a variety of media projects, including as a Globe and Mail columnist; a writer, producer and story editor on Project Runway Canada; a blogger for the fashion magazine Flare; a guest host on CBC Radio 3; and a moderator of CBC Radio's online book discussion forum for Canada Reads.
At the University of Toronto, she wrote for the women's comedy troupe Women's Episkopon.
