Handbook of Green Chemistry

Background

The Handbook of Green Chemistry is an English Language encyclopedia edited by Paul T. Anastas. It is due to be published in December 2008 by Wiley-VCH, an imprint of John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

About the Editor

Anastas is one of the key researchers in the area of Green Chemistry and is most famous for devising the "12 Principles of Green Chemistry". He is currently professor at Yale University, USA, and is also the Director of the Centre of the Green Chemistry Institute in Washington D.C.. The Handbook provides a centralised source for his knowledge.

General Information

The area of Green Chemistry has seen huge expansion in the past decade. This reference work contains important information on product and molecule design and applications of green chemistry in real-world environmental situations.

Topics include: feedstocks, green chemistry engineering, green catalysis (homogeneous, heterogeneous and biocatalysis), separations techniques, solvents like supercritical fluids and ionic liquids.

It comes in 12 volumes, divided into sets of four, each focusing on a particular specialism for this area of chemistry. See the areas below.
