Hallel Yaffa Ariel

On June 30, 2016 a 17-year-old Palestinian male broke into a home in a fortified community. He stabbed and killed a sleeping 13-year-old Israeli and American citizen, Hallel Yaffa Ariel, in her bedroom. The assailant was then fatally shot by security guards. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed "incitement-driven terrorists" while the U.S. State Department condemned the "outrageous terrorist attack."
Muhammad Nasser Tarayra, a Palestinian high school dropout age 17 of Bani Naim infiltrated the Harsanina neighbourhood of the Israeli settlement of Kiryat Arba and stabbed a Jewish girl, Hillel Yafa Ariel (13) of Kiryat Arba several times while she was asleep. Critically wounded, she was transported to hospital and later died of her wounds. According to some reports, he stabbed two other settlement guards before he was shot dead. A hospital spokesman said one of the security personnel, 31 years old, had suffered from serious gunshot wounds, a detail, according to Ma'an News Agency, missing in the army communiqué. Details of who did the shooting are unclear. Arrangement were made to demolish his family's home. The mother of the attacker praised his son as martyr defending Jerusalem and the al-Aqsa Mosque and hoped others would follow in his path. Tarayra had boasted on Facebook his wishes to die as a martyr, and avenge his cousin, who was killed by soldiers as he carried out a car-ramming attack A banner with pictures of martyred Tarayreh and the late Yasser Arafat was hung outside a building in the West Bank village of Taraayreh's family, and the family is eligible for $350 a month from a Palestinian fund for martyrs.
Impact
As a consequence of this attack and others, the Israeli government appropriated $12.9 to "strengthen" the Jewish communities of Kiryat Arba and nearby Hebron. The funds will be used for social projects and education, as well as for increaded security and will come form the budgets of several Ministries.
