Hakem "The Dream" Dermish (born January 23, 1982) is an Arab American sports reporter and producer for WRC-TV, a NBC-affiliate in Washington, D.C. Early life Dermish was born and raised in Kent, Ohio. He attended Kent Roosevelt High School and played catcher for the baseball team. After high school, Dermish attended Asbury College, a small Christian school in Wilmore, Ky., where he continued his baseball career. During his time at Asbury, Dermish freelanced for ESPN, NBC and CBS. He worked at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, in Salt Lake City, Utah, as part of the production team for the International Sports Broadcasting Company. Dermish graduated in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in media communications. Career Dermish landed his first job at WLUC in Marquette, Mich., as a reporter, and after just nine months he was hired by WTVG in Toledo, Ohio. Dermish spent two years at WTVG as a reporter/anchor. And then, the young journalist made the jump to a top ten market in just three years. In April 2007, Dermish was hired by WRC-TV in Washington D.C., as a producer/reporter. On weekends Dermish also fills-in as sports anchor, and can be heard using his famous catch phrase "he's apparently wearing some sort of no tackle cologne” in reference to a football player going untouched to the end zone. Peronal Life Dermish resides in Alexandria, Va. He married Caitlin Cashmore on June 5, 2009.
