The Guaido challenge (#GuaidoChallenge) is a viral internet meme that emerged on social media on 25 January during the 2019 Venezuelan presidential crisis, involving Nicolás Maduro and Juan Guaidó, both with claims to the title of President of Venezuela. The meme began with a video, which was subsequently spoofed as a form of humorous protest. The Associated Press said that Maduro's administration sought to discredit Guaidó with video footage "to paint as a liar and a fraud". in which Guaidó allegedly said he was under pressure from the United States. On 27 January, Guaidó held a public assembly and again challenged the Maduro administration to produce evidence of the alleged meeting. According to a translation on Caracas Chronicles, he said, "Show whatever you want, fabrications, with hoodie, without hoodie, audios. You confuse nobody here, the people see clearly."
