GRI Tires

Global Rubber Industries Pvt. Ltd (GRI) is a manufacturer of specialty tires, headquartered in Sri Lanka. It has sales offices and warehouses in the United States, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Lithuania, Latvia Estonia, and Australia. GRI produces agriculture tires, and material handling tires primarily using Sri Lankan natural rubber.
History and growth
GRI material handling tyres are used in the replacement market for forklifts all over the world. It is the largest producer of solid excavator tyres.
In 2018, the company opened a specialty tire facility in Badalgama with an investment of over 40 million dollars, becoming the first manufacturer to produce Radial Agriculture tires in Sri Lanka. In January 2021, GRI began expanding its specialty tire production plant to increase its capacity to 750,000 tires per year.
In 2018, Dr Mahesha Ranasoma was appointed as CEO.
Global locations
It opened its first off-shore sales offices in U.S and France in 2003. In 2011, GRI opened sales offices in Netherlands and Germany and expanded its manufacturing plant in Sri Lanka. It entered the Australian market in 2014 in Brisbane, expanding to Melbourne in 2015. It 2016, GRI acquired two U.S.  tire retail and service companies and also expanded in the U.S. in 2019.
In 2019, GRI acquired Axis Industrial Tires in Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne, rebranding and merging existing sales and service outlets with GRI operations. In 2o19 GRI acquired the Nortire Group, an Estonian company with branches in Lithuania and Latvia, in its Northern European expansion.
