On May 15, CrazedHits.com, a website "tip-sheet" run by Alex Wilhelm, while citing no sources, reported that Interscope Records had signed 12-year-old Chance to a record deal. Meanwhile, Chance's parents have told the press that they "will seek opinions from people in the music industry before signing any contracts". Scott Chance is quoted post-Ellen as saying: "We want to regroup and take the weekend to study how we want to proceed. Next week we’ll make some inquiries and start interviewing some people, not to necessarily sign some deals, but get advice on what we need to do next.”.
