Greg Neyman (born 1960) is an American-born Old Earth Creationist. A geologist by training, he has established his own ministry called Answers In Creation that promotes all forms of Old Earth creationism, such as progressive creationism, theistic evolution, and the gap theory. He accepts the scientific evidence of the age of the earth and the age of the universe, and promotes the belief that an old earth is not in conflict with the Genesis account of creation.
Biography Neyman earned a Bachelor of Science in geology from the University of Memphis, and has studied briefly at Liberty University via distance learning. His area of concentration in geology is in sedimentary geology. Neyman served in the United States Air Force as an officer, retiring in 2006.
Thought Neyman's main point of teaching is that a person can fully accept the teachings of modern science, which claims that the Earth and the universe are old, and at the same time fully accept the as an accurate, literal teaching from God. Through his website he actively promotes this idea, and provides counter-arguments against the claims made by young earth creationist organizations.
It is his contention that the teaching of young earth creation science has done more harm to the church than it has good. He contends that youth are taught early on that the earth is young, only to find out in high school and college that this is not true. This discovery leads many to abandon the church. Neyman proposes that if children are told that it is acceptable to believe in an old earth and God, that this mass exodus from the church would be prevented.
Creationism Neyman is very critical of young earth creationists, and has been prolific in writing rebuttals to their scientific claims. He has written over 1,000 web articles against young earth creationism. All appear on the Answers In Creation website, and many articles exist on hundreds of other websites.
