Grand Prix Racing Manager

Grand Prix Racing Manager or GPRM (previously known as F1CM) is a Formula One management computer game developed by AzTech Games. Grand Prix Racing Manager is a working title.

Recent developments

On the 31 December 2006 an announcement on the official website stated "The game is now nearing completion and we do hope to make announcements in first quarter of 2007 of publishing deals and game launch details".

In July 2007 the development team released a low resolution 4.3.1 Alpha gameplay video of the first 25 laps of an Australian Grand Prix. The screen layout is said to be work in progress but nevertheless the video features changing pit strategy, a safety-car period and a 2003 data set. The demonstrated data set is not to be used in the final game though. The video can be viewed at the official homepage.

As of 2008 there has been no further progress reports by the team. In addition the forums on the homepage were no longer accessiable from March, suggesting that the project has been scuppered without trace.

Commercial Release

GPRM had been unable to generate a license via a Publisher to take a commercial release with Formula 1 data sets, liveries and photography. This caused problems as many of the staff who helped create the 2003 Formula One data set had left the team by the time the Company came to the decision to go down the 'fantasy' route.

Furthermore, the company had placed a huge emphasis on finding a Publisher which would enable GPRM to be sold in stores. This was in part due to the games intial release pre-dating the trend of smaller games being released as Download only.
