GovExec

GovExec (founded as Government Executive Media Group) is a media, marketing, research, and events company based in Washington, D.C. It has been called "a leading information services company for government leaders and contractors."
"Prior to GovExec, there hasn't been one media company that has tried to bundle all of the content and services that serve public sector officials in one place," Axios wrote in 2021. In the year before the sale, the GEMG division had revenue of about $20 million.
The newly independent company soon began to acquire other companies, including news organizations that cover federal, state, and local governments; and providers of market information to government contractors.
In December 2020, GEMG acquired The Atlas for Cities, which TechCrunch described as a "market intelligence platform connecting tech companies with state and local governments."
In January 2021, the company acquired City & State, a local news organization based in New York and Pennsylvania.
In 2021, GEMG renamed itself GovExec, which had formerly been a nickname for the Government Executive publication.
In August 2021, the company acquired GovTribe, a company that helps government contractors find federal government contracts to bid on.
In September 2021, GovExec acquired Market Connections, a leading government-market-research firm. It was the company's ninth acquisition since its spinoff. "Deals have become a key part of GovExec's growth strategy, as it looks to build the dominant media company that serves public sector workers," Axios wrote. "The company's business model revolves around providing three types of services: data and research, tools to mine that information and insights to analyze it."
That same month, GovExec acquired the Public Sector 360 media group, which included the three-decade-old Federal Computer Week and Washington Technology news organizations.
In January 2021, GovExec acquired the Tallahassee-based News Service of Florida.
