GORUCK launched its gear at Tough Mudder, an event series started by British Special Forces. At the inaugural Tough Mudder event, Team GORUCK, composed of current and former Green Berets, took the GORUCK Challenge to prove the bag’s durability. Each member of Team GORUCK completed the course carrying 25 lbs of bricks in their backpacks. is the first store to debut GORUCK just before Team GORUCK took on Tough Mudder.
Patches
All GORUCK products include a 2” x 3” patch-friendly Velcro strip sewn on that can display any patch.
GORUCK Flags take inspiration from the reverse US flag worn into combat to this day. The reverse flag dates back to the Army’s early history when both cavalry and infantry units would charge ahead as the Colors streamed back, stripes flying to the left in the wind as the soldier moves forward. It is meant as a sign of both courage and respect.

GORUCK's founder, a former Green Beret, has explained that he chose an abstract of the US flag as the logo in order to bridge the civilian and the military worlds. GORUCK believes its reverse flag highlights the brand's association with America, American manufacturing, and the United States military in the most positive way possible.
