GORESLEEPS are an death/doom metal band from Moscow region,Russia, formed in January, 1993. Music of GORESLEEPS - original and melodic Death Metal the Swedish orientation, but with own interesting and original sounding, associates with TIAMAT, PAN-THY-MONIUM, EDGE OF SANITY, CEMETARY, DESULTORY, DISMEMBER.
History
GORESLEEPS had been organized by drummer Mike, after left Moscow death metal band CORPSE.
The main composer of band responsible for guitars and bass becomes Jeff also playing in CORPSE.
The third musician GORESLEEPS becomes Swede, before co-operating with ENS COGITANS. Besides guitar parties Swede has brought the composer talent and it is unique melodious keys. The place occupies from a microphonic rack Siggi, becoming simultaneously the unique author of texts.
In April’93 GORESLEEPS are recorded debut demo “Reflections” containing 3 songs on 15 minutes. The fine reviews are appeared in fanzines. Later demo came out on split tape with CORPSE and DIRGE. Soon after that GORESLEEPS got some few offers from sound-recording labels, but forbore from its acceptance, and after a half year gave preference to Russian label FINAL HOLOCAUST a division of POLYTEK.
In January’94 came out new demo “Crystalline Crying”, containing 4 songs on 30 minutes. Music is a same death/doom metal, basing on a beautiful melodies. After that bassist and pianist Andy joined to them.GORESLEEPS prepare a material for the first full-length LP.
However in May, 1994 the label "Final Holocaust Records" stops the existence. After that the band is left by guitarist Swede.
GORESLEEPS write down third promo-tape, later realised by the French firm "Impure Creation Records", but across Russia this demo did not extend.
In the end of December, 1994 the band leaves for the first time in professional TEF-studio and for a week writes down the first LP "... And the Voice From Legend Will Proclaim". Record was staged by Jean Alikjan . After record the band concludes the five years' contract with "Metal Agen Records" a division of SOYUZ.
The album leaves in February, 1995 and includes absolutely new 6 songs, earlier anywhere not published.
The Gothic spirit conformable to products of William Blake, is forced by means of the gloomy guitar drive, from time to time diluted that atmospheric keyboard, acoustic folk, and that still by something, all in the same magic key.
After concerts in support of a debut album, in the end of November, 1996 the band together with Sergey Terentyev leaves on the Aria-studio for record the second full-length an album "Far Away From Anywhere Else...".
The whole month of record and data in studios and an album "Far Away From Anywhere Else..." It is ready. With a writing of texts Siggi help Hamri - the expert on English poetry and Kelly - musician ENS COGITANS.
Reduces an album Sergey Terentyev, and mastering does Stas Karjakin from SBA Studio. The album is published in 1997. Music became very modern, it is impossible to tell that it is the same doom, as four years ago. Tracks from this album join in every possible compilations and collections.
With this program GORESLEEPS act on Moscow "DEATHRIDER" show. In the end of 1998 the first experiments with sounding begin. Searches of the new vocalist as at Siggi problems with vocal chords have begun in parallel begin. During this period on gigs voice parts execute Jeff and Marina. Marina helped GORESLEEPS with record of their second album "Far Away From Anywhere Else..." . Its back-vocal can be heard on a composition "Mary". In this structure the band writes down the fourth demo which includes 11 compositions and concerns to the Seatle period in the band biography. The demo was not published and is bootleg recording.
After numerous listenings the place of the new vocalist occupies Svette. It has allowed Siggi completely will be switched to a guitar. In this structure the band acts with the new program.
