Gola H. Sebenar

Gola H. Sebenar (b. Sept. 25, 1914 d. Sept. 17, 1991) served in WWII under General Patton. He was the cartographer responsible for mapping out the D-Day invasion. He then fought in the D-Day invasion. He returned home safely (along with both of his brothers) and met Ruth DeSort in a Chicago art school. They had 2 children, Janness and Jill. Gola Sebenar was a commercial artist who worked in advertising for many years and had prominent clients out of Chicago. Along with his career in advertising, Sebenar had a strong passion for cartooning. He occasionally submitted a strip called Irby, Big Tanker to Stars and Stripes as well as some Hearst Publications. All of his Christmas, birthday, and announcement cards were personally cartooned by him.
