The Global Student Forum (GSF) is a coalition of around the world that advocates for students' interests and improving education. It represents around 300 million students worldwide. History The GSF formed through a collaboration between the , the Commonwealth Students Association, the European Students' Union, the Organización Continental Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Estudiantes (OCLAE), and the Organising Bureau of European School Student Unions (OBESSU). In 2024, another global coalition, the Global Student Government, merged with the GSF to further unify the global student movement that had been fragmented since the fall of the International Union of Students (IUS) in the 2000s. This merger resulted in a number of international subject-based student governments, student governments representing students in a specific subject of study such as the , to join the GSF as well. Advocacy The GSF engages in advocacy through issuing public statements with policy recommendations, participating in high-level forums of international governing bodies, and supporting the publication of academic research to support student governments.
