GK Radio

GK Radio is an Internet Radio station broadcasting live from Staffordshire University's Stoke and Stafford campuses. The station is operated mostly by students taking a variety of media courses from Live Radio, Music Broadcasting and many others.

The station begins broadcasting at 10am (provided that a show is scheduled) and goes through in to the night. The station's broadcast day begins with its Breakfast show, then the GK News at midday, followed by Liquid Lunch, In the Afternoon, Request Show and then the evening is dedicated to specialist shows. Popular and interesting shows include The Fox and Tiger Show, GK Drive with Warren & Dan, Whole Lotta Rock, GK Drive with Tom Kingham and Plectrum with James on Mondays. Some DJs have their own Facebook accounts for followers of the shows.

GK stands for "Get Knotted", a phrase coined by students in relation to the Staffordshire knot. Some time slots are still open to potential shows and students can submit applications online. The GK Radio has two studios on the Stoke-on-Trent campus, located in the Student Union - the Stafford campus is currently recruiting.

GK Radio is part of the GK Media group, which includes GK News and GK:TV, the union newspaper and television station.
