Giuseppe Battista Balsamo

Giuseppe Balsamo "Battista" "The Brooklyn Godfather" was a member of the Sicilian Mafia. Balsamo immigrated to New York in 1895 and moved to Brooklyn. Balsamo soon established a criminal carrer, Balsamo started making Racketeering operations in Brooklyn and founded a small gang involved in Murder, Racketeering, Loansharking and Numbers racket. Balsamo soon got his name "The Brooklyn Godfather". Balsamo soon retired from Crime and gave his criminal organization to Philip Mangano.
