GirlsandGuns.com

GirlsandGuns.com is a website launched in July 2007 that broadcasts video footage of young women shooting a variety of high-caliber firearms including an AK-47, AR-50 sniper rifle, a grenade launcher, an M16 assault rifle and an MP-5 submachine gun. Billed as an Internet-based television show, the premise behind GirlsandGuns.com is a peculiar one.

Overview

In each episode, four good looking female contestants, dressed in Lycra bikinis, thigh holsters and high-heeled combat boots, compete against each other in a paramilitary-syle contest. The women vie for points in a three-round tournment and the shooter who wins the contest at the end of the episode gets a chance to vie for a $5,000 cash grand prize in the season finale. To date, GirlsandGuns.com has completed six episodes and is currently developing nine more.

In one of the early episodes of GirlsandGuns.com, the show recruited Miss Howard Stern Andrea Brooke as one of its contestants. Although she didn’t win, Brooke’s antics on and off camera made her appearance the highlight of the season. Video clips of a visibly intoxicated and topless Brooke firing indiscrimiante rounds from a fully automatic assault rifle has garnered more than 35,000 views on YouTube.

Mainstream media outlets and animal advocacy groups have criticized Tough Sports Live for being cruel to the animals, operating unregulated bare-knuckle brawls, and making exploitive videos of near-naked young women shooting machine guns for fun.

Show Creators

GirlsandGuns.com was created by Theresa Brown, an avid hunter and extreme outdoor sports enthusiast. She pitched the idea to Toughsportslive.com, an online entertainment company that also produces RioHeroes.com, that broadcasts bare-knuckle Vale Tudo fighting from Rio De Janeiro.
