Gilgamesh: The Hero

Gilgamesh: The Hero is a school production that was shown in Columbus Preparatory Academy a school in Chippewa Columbus,Ohio. The play was based off of the story of Gilgamesh who was a king that wants to look for immortality. The premiere was at 6:00 in the school on January 25 2011. The play was created by music maker and movie maker Wendy Farrell who is also a teacher at the school. The play stars Mexican Actor Rodrigo Salto as Gilgamesh and Mexican American Actor and singer Isaac Martinez as Enkidu the bird and friend of Gilgamesh.
Plot
Gilgamesh (Rodrigo Salto) and his friend Enkidu (Isaac Martinez) battle the evil Huwawa (Christopher Gordon) who plans to take over the world. Enkidu kills him with a giant spear and they are encountered by Ishtar (Sir Quora Carrol) the godess of love and war and she plans to marry Gilgamesh but he refuses. She then sends the Bull of Heaven (Joel Briones) to kill Gilgamesh but Enkidu saves him. Ishtar then demands the gods to murder Enkidu in his sleep.
2 days later Gilgamesh crys to the death of his friend and Gilgamesh wants immortality so the death can't happen to him. Gilgamesh arrives at an island and knocks on a tavern's door. The door opens to reveal a lady named Siduri (Karlee Bauer) and she attemps to close the door but Gilgamesh tells her that he is the king of Uruk and trys to find immortality. She tells her that the path to immortality is on a stranded island and a man named Utnaptism is going to give it to him. Gilgamesh rides in the sea in Siduri's boat but the Waters of Death (Chantarra McCrary) encounters him and sends him off. Gilgamesh arrives on the island and meets Utnapitism (Terrance Harris) and asks him for immortality but Utnapitism tells him that the only way to get immortality is to get the Plant of Life.
Gilgamesh dives into the Euphrates River and gets the plant of life so he rests on a nearby island in a tent. Suddenly Ishtar comes and eats the plant for revenge. Gilgamesh wakes up and sees that his plant is gone. When Gilgamesh sobs his friend Enkidu comes from Heaven but is a bird. He takes Gilgamesh to his city and shows Gilgamesh that immortality isn't that important and Gilgamesh accepts. Then they fly to Uruk and Gilgamesh starts his new family with his new life.
