Gianluca Bennati

Gianluca Bennati also known in the Japanese version as Luca, is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the 1974 Italian melodrama film Summer to Remember, directed by Sergio Martino. He was portrayed by child actor Alessandro Cocco.
Character
Gianluca Bennati is a 9-year-old Italian boy, originally from Milan, who him and his mother Emanuela, are in the Versilia for the summer. He mainly has short brown hair and blue eyes.
Gianluca is very curious, confident, and devoted, while sometimes lonely and down. He has a love of racing, and inspired by his father Vittorio, who was also a racer, wants to become a race car driver when he grows up. When school starts, he goes into a new school, and at first is bullied by a boy named Marco, who first met him at the Versilia beach. Later, the fought at school, and afterwards, both make up and became friends. Gianluca still has dreams of his father, including nightmares of not seeing him again.
