GfxEditor is a web-based graphic design application with integrated capabilities for editing bitmap images and photos, drawing with vectors, using dingbat vector clipart, writing rich text, making page layout and displaying graphics on merchandise from Zazzle. All packed in a single 800 kilobyte Flash application. It can search and import photos from Wikimedia, Picasa, Flickr and upload/download from/to the user's local computer. GfxEditor 1.0 beta was launched in May 2010, after 5 years of development by a danish-brazilian software developer. When users sign-up for an account, they get by default a free subscription plan, that can be upgraded to a premium plan offered for a monthly, 6-month, or annual subscription cost. The free subscription enables the use of pretty much all the application functionality, but limit the access to storage space and to the built-in media content, so that only 1/3 of the fonts, cliparts, images, brush sets and server storage space is accessible. The free subscription is more than enough for most users, because there is a huge amount of built-in media content and enough storage space for quite a few projects.
