Gershon Wiesenfeld

Rabbi Gershon Avrohom Weisenfeld (1932-1981) was a founding Rosh Yeshiva of the Yeshiva in Passaic, NJ.
Rabbi Wiesenfeld founded Yeshiva Gedolah of Passaic in 1973, together with Rabbi Chaim Davis with initial push by Reichmann family from Canada. Amidst serious illness, Rabbi Wiesenfeld was forced to leave the yeshiva in 1975. He was replaced by Rabbi Meir Stern, the Yeshiva's current head.
In 1951, Rabbi Gershon Weisenfeld married Rivka Zaks, a daughter of Rabbi Mendel Zaks (and granddaughter of the Chofetz Chaim. She died in January 2008. Together they had 12 children .
Rabbi Weisenfeld's famous sons-in-law include Rabbi Eli Chaim Swerdloff (the Rosh Yeshiva in Paterson, NJ), Rabbi Dovid Revah (a posek in Los Angeles), and Rabbi Yankelewitz (a son of Gershon Yankelewitz), a Talmudic lecturer at Yeshiva Bais Binyomin in Stamford, CT.
