George Bednar

George John Bednar (March 16, 1942 - December 6, 2007) was an American football player in the 1960s. He played college football at the guard position for Notre Dame and was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in eighth round (104th overall pick) of the 1964 NFL Draft. In December 1963, he was selected to play at the guard position for the Blue team in the Blue-Gray Football Classic. He was also selected to play in the Chicago College All-Star Game in August 1964. On September 19, 1964, he was listed on the roster of the St. Louis Cardinals. No record has been found of his appearing on an NFL lineup after that time, though a published obituary claimed that he played for the Cardinals from 1964 to 1966.
