Genesis Park is a Houston-based lower middle market private equity firm that focuses on investments in information technology, telecom, financial services, energy and transportation and logistics in the Southern U.S. The firm was founded in 1999 by Paul Hobby, Peter Shaper and Steven Gibson. The firm specializes in private and public carve outs, management buyouts, distress situations, growth capital and family and founder led businesses. Typical investments have revenue of $5M-100M and EBITDA of $2M-20M. Investments July 2019: Estis Compression August 2019: Layne Water Midstream Holdings, LLC January 2019: Essentium, Inc. May 2018: Virgil Holdings/Hcareers December 2017: PetroCloud. The business went through a re-brand and today is Twenty20 Solutions. October 2016: Texas Monthly. Genesis Park sold Texas Monthly in June 2019 to an affiliate of Enterprise Products. January 2013: ipDatatel. ipDatatel was acquired by Alula Holdings, LLC in 2018. March 2002: CapRock Communications. Genesis Park exited CapRock Communications in 2006.
