GDS International is a privately owned company. It was founded in 1993 by Spencer Green, currently chairman, as GDS Publishing Ltd, publishing business-to-business magazines and journals for the developing markets of China, India and South America. GDS Publishing Ltd has launched over forty business-to-business titles. In 1998, GDS Publishing became GDS International and launched its first conference, Enterprise China. The Enterprise series of conferences was released across China and Latin America during the next two years. In 2000, GDS International launched its first senior executive summit under the Next Generation banner. This caused ten years of rapid growth (GDS grew 40% in 2010). GDS International now focuses exclusively on summits for industry verticals, for example: * Next Generation summits - for industry verticals such as education, energy, pharmaceuticals and telecommunications * for information and finance officers * for CIO * for CFO * conferences for social media strategists * MeetTheBoss, an online executive learning resource, nominated for an award at the first such ceremony held by the Communication on Top Forum, 2011. GDS International has offices in Australia (Sydney), Europe (Bristol and Cardiff), and North America (New York City). As of February 2011, it employed 479 staff.
