Gary Wilkes

Gary Wilkes is an American animal behaviorist and internationally renowned dog trainer and one of the modern day founders of clicker training.
Education
Wilkes attended Oregon and Arizona State Universities.
Teaching
Wilkes taught at the Ethology Institute in Hong, Denmark to graduate level students in animal behavior and is currently an associate professor of animal behavior at the Morrison School of Agri-Business at Arizona State University. He has also lectured for psychology departments of MIT, Temple University, Arizona State University and the University of North Texas.
Media
Wilkes' "Pet Project" weekly newspaper column is distributed internationally on the New York Times and Cox wire services, and is a multiple winner of the Gaines/Cycle Pet Foods' Newspaper Column of the Year. Wilkes was featured in an episode of Scientific American Frontiers hosted by Alan Alda for his work with the MIT Media lab with artificial intelligence.
