Gary Michael Schultz

Gary Michael Schultz is a writer, actor, director, producer and part time musician.

Gary was born July 24th, 1978 in the South Suburbs of Chicago. He grew up with a passion for story telling and illustration and at an early age was greatly influenced by comic books and horror movies. While attending highschool Gary received scholarships to take college art courses at The Art Institute of Chicago and Eastern Illinois University. After highschool Gary attended Columbia College Chicago and earned a BA. At Columba he studied filmmaking with a concentration in screenwriting and directing. Gary has directed several short films (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1770760/) he has also written, produced and acted in many independent films. Currently he is working on his first feature films that he has written and plans to direct, the horror movie "Dead Reign" and the women in prison film "Murder Girls." Actor Ken Foree has been rumored to be attached to Dead Reign which would mark his first major zombie film since the original "Dawn of the Dead" in 1978.

As a musician Gary was the frontman and singer for the heavy metal band "Neotribe". Neotribe was popular in the Chicago area and midwest from 2000-2003. In 2005 Gary joined the rock band "Dead Radio" as the lead singer and part time guitar player. He has put out several music demos with both bands.

Gary has been writing reviews and conducting interviews for the website Film Monthly since 2003. He is also the co-founder of CrashFest NFP, a Chicago based film festival.
