Gainesville powerlines

Powerlines(Quarry), Gainesville, Florida - These trails are a series singletrack that branch off from a main two lane dirt road, aka the powerlines road. The main entrance is where 23rd street turns to dirt road on the West side of Gainesville. You will go about 100 yards, and there will then be several singletrack trails to the left and to the right. Just hop on the trail and most likely it will spit you out back on the main dirt road. There is another entrance on 39th avenue right near the neighborhood Wellington. You will have to duck under a guard rail in order to get through this entrance.
To get to the quarry, you follow the main dirt road (coming from 23rd avenue entrance) all the way until it dead ends by an old tractor. Go left here (to the right are some great singletrack rides that border that property of GRU).Then proceed about 200 yards until you see a singletrack trail to your right. It is very hard to spot but if you come to some houses you have gone to far. Follow this singletrack until it forks. Then go left. This trail will wrap around the quarry and be a progressive downhill ride.
Once at the quarry, continue on and there will be two cave entrances on a rock wall. Proceed at your own risk. Flashlights/Headlamps are a must if you want to go inside these caves.
