G.K. Pillai (1951-2022) was an Indian business executive who was the former CEO and Managing Director of Janam TV. He has also served as Chairman and former MD of Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited, Ranchi, and HMT Machine Tools Limited, Bangalore — two of the largest engineering public sector companies in India. Early life and career G.K. Pillai was born in Kerala to a Travancore-based Nair family. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Birla Institute of Technology and Science - Pilani. Apart from being a management expert and social activist, he settled in Palakkad, where he also served as RSS Palakkad Nagar Sanghachalak and Sevabharathi Palakkad District President. Death He died of a heart attack while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Coimbatore in March 2022. |
