FRIDA

FRIDA (FRiendly IDentificAtion) was developed since 2003 at the Department of Life Sciences of the University of Trieste (Italy), to be used in the production of multi-authored interactive identification keys. It is written in PL/SQL and developed on an Oracle Database engine. FRIDA does not require the learning of any code or programming language, both data input and management being made through simple HTML interfaces. The identification keys produced using FRIDA are provided with two different query interfaces, dichotomous and multi-entry. It has currently come to version 2.1, and its further stable version (3.0) is planned for the end of 2009.
Several examples of keys produced using FRIDA are available in the pages of project Dryades, section identification tools.
