Forrest Lin is a renowned Rubik's Cube solver, with a 3x3 single-solve time of 10.30. He is well known for promoting the sport of speedcubing. Lin has introduced many people to the Rubik's Cube. Attending Schurr High School, he founded the Schurr High School Cube Club in 2008, a club for people with interest in the Rubik's Cube. He formed this club along with Vice Presidents Philip Cong and Thomas Sun as well as Secretary Lauren Nicho. (Lin was inspired by Lauren Nicho and Philip Cong to solve the cube). The club attends regional competitions, as well as holding its own. By estimation, Lin believes he has taught more than 50 people how to solve the Rubik's Cube. On May 28, 2009, Lin, along with Cole SooHoo held a Rubik's Cube learning event and competition at the Montebello Public Library in Los Angeles. Among the competitors was Minh Thai, who was the first world record holder of the 3x3 Rubik's Cube, and also the winner of the first ever Rubik's Cube Competition in Budapest. This event was successful and is expected to be held throughout the coming years.
