Fobos-Grunt 2

Fobos-Grunt 2 (, literally "Phobos-Soil 2") is an proposed space probe designed to deliver soil samples to the natural satellite of Mars, Phobos to Earth, determine the physico-chemical characteristics of Phobos soil, studies the origin of the satellites of Mars, its atmosphere interaction processes and surface, the interaction of small solar system bodies with the solar wind.
On March 15 2012, ESA announced an agreement had been reached for the inclusion of Russia as a full project partner. Despite this, the plans for this mission was not canceled. Although the insurance money from Fobos-Grunt would go to ExoMars, ESA could participate in Fobos-Grunt-2 under the same conditions as set in Russia's participation in that program.
However, the plans of Fobos-Grunt 2 is reconsidered as the plans for ExoMars being discussed. NPO Lavochkin insists that this mission should be repeated
