History
FlatPress began in 2006 by NoWhereMan who was then using SimplePHPBlog decided to create his own blogging engine. Working with Hydra (aka SamyWeb) and Drudo, FlatPress was born. Text files were used to take advantage of free web hosts offering PHP support. This allowed for quickly moving the blog site from one server to another without having to deal with complicated export/import procedures; just ftp download and re-upload.
Since then, it has become very popular on web hosts offering PHP support. A couple reviews of FlatPress describe it as a database-less version of Wordpress.
Support
Most problems concerning FlatPress are resolved by asking for assistance on the Official FlatPress . English is the principal language used on the forum but Italian, French, and some other languages can be used instead. Documentation is available on the Official FlatPress .
